Smithsonian Folklife Festival 2005
When:
June 23-27 and june 30 -July 4
What:
The Smithsonian Institute is seeking 150 volunteers for the task of aiding over
100 Omani participants before and during the festival.
Pre-festival:
Tasks Include helping the participants with housing, transportation, and in
answering any questions the participants may have.
During the
festival: Volunteers will assist the participants in presentation areas,
artisan areas, food posts, and other occupational stations.
Requirements:
Volunteers should have excellent people skills and sensitivities. Arabic
speaking skills or a rudimentary understanding of the Arabic language is a
plus! Appreciation of the Omani culture is a must.
