The Cultural Division of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Washington D.C. would like to congratulate Mr. Badar Salim Al-Manthari for his Superior academic achievement.  Mr. Al-Manthari is currently a full-time Ph.D. student at Queens University in Kingston, Canada.

 

     In his studies, Mr. Al-Manthari have garnered several notable awards including:

 

·          Market Readiness Grant Award, Centre for Communications and Information Technology, Ontario Centers of Excellence, Canada, March 2006. The main objective of the grant was to develop a visualization tool in order to envisage the effectiveness of the solutions he proposed in his thesis in order to demonstrate them to major telecommunication companies for commercialization.

·          Queen’s University Graduate Awards, 2004, 2005 and 2006

 

     Last November 2006, Mr. Al-Manthari along with his supervisors Mr. Nidal Nasser and Hossam Hassanein, were able to successfully patent a “Method for Optimal Packet Scheduling for Wireless and Mobile Communication Networks” (No. US60/860,487).

 

     Mr. Al-Manthari received full scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education for his Bachelors of Science degree. For his Masters and Ph.D. studies, he is a scholarship recipient from Queens University and the Ministry of Higher Education.
