To All SQU Students:

We recently received some requests for Project Allowance payment.  We would like to inform you that the Financial Affairs Department at SQU has established guidelines for the payment of Project Allowance.  These guidelines are outlined in the letter received by our office last August 2005 from SQU (please see attachment).  As stated in the letter, the Project Allowance will be paid to the Undergraduate, Masters/Residents, Doctorate Degree students one time in their final year at the semester before the last semester of graduation.  An exception is given to the Doctorate Degree students, to be paid the Project Allowance in 2 installments starting the second year if their study requires travel to other countries.

In all cases, a letter from the Academic Advisor of the student has to be provided.  The letter should state that the research project is part of the degree requirements.  We have attached a sample letter for your convenience.

All scholars who are requesting the Project Allowance should follow the outlined guidelines.  The Cultural Division abides by the rules and regulations of the sponsoring agency and cannot deviate from them.

Thank you.

Regards,
