Dear Students,
Last December 31, 2003 the U.S. Department of Homeland Security implemented its so-called “US-Visit” program aimed to enhance the country’s entry and exit system.
The initiative involves collecting travel information and “biometric identifiers”(such as fingerprints, using a simple inkless device) from visitors to assist the border officer in making admissibility decisions.
If you are a U.S. Student, encourage you to visit the
Department of Homeland Security website and be updated with the “US-Visit”
program. The link to the program is as
follows: www.dhs.gov/us-visit.
Please take not that the special registration program (NSEERS) is still in effect therefore registration at the ports of entry still continues and all registrants leaving the United States must depart from a designated port of departure. (http://www.dhs.gov/interweb/assetlibrary/FINALRevised_FAQs_12-31-2003.pdf go to page 5 for NSEERS).
We wish you all the best!
Sincerely,
Dr. Talib Al-Salmi
