Academic Services

The academic services division fulfills integral parts of the Oman Cultural Division mission. We administer standards of scholarship and policy as defined by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman and the Oman scholarship sponsors.

We take responsibility of our students from the day they arrive in the U.S.A /Canada, guide them throughout their scholarship and make sure that they have a smooth flowing academic life in their experience as international students.

We encourage the development of students through counseling, persuade them to take summer coursework, maintain regular communication and other initiatives that promote timely degree completion and academic and career success.

The following list exemplifies regular duties of academic services:

•   Maintain the academic standards set forth by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman and the Oman scholarship sponsors.


•   Apply students to accredited universities and administer financial guarantees as needed.


•   Arrange for student receipt at study destination and contact school for possible airport pickup and temporary accommodation.


•   Participate in student orientation and explain the scholarship rules and regulations if necessary.


•   Coordinate with the financial services division to pay student allowances.


•   Monitor student degree progress - including time to degree - and provide individual counseling.


•   Report academic progress to Oman scholarship sponsor and MOHE on a regular basis, at the end of each academic term.


•   Communicate with schools and keep track of student needs.


•   Aid student and accompanying families in passport renewal and other consular matters.


•   Regularly communicate and advise students regarding academic matters including issues related to their scholarship.
